GRACE DIAZ

For over 20 years, Grace has served in several marginalized immigrant neighbourhoods including Parkdale and Lawrence Heights. During this time, she has worked in the TDSB and several community organizations. There, she successfully worked in a variety of capacities and roles including Essential Skills Upgrading Instructor, Program Facilitator, Community Educator and Health Promoter.

Grace uses an anti-oppression, and Afro-indigenous framework knowledge and cultural practices to all her work. By using these lenses, she able to creatively engage in dialogue and action that empower the all the women, children and all communities to which she has worked. These lenses also allow her effectively help and enhance access to knowledge, tools, support and resources necessary not only to survive but successfully navigate life in this new country.
